Self-exploration guides are designed to help students actively explore the Museum galleries. We have beginning, intermediate, and advanced sheets that vary in depth and analysis. Depending on the level of your students, choose which sheet works best with the education goals you have set for the visit.
- Ancient Egypt
- Maya: Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth
- Footsteps Through Time
- Kumeyaay: Native Californians
- Race: Are We So Different? (Student and Teacher/Chaperone Guides)
- Museum General (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
- Special Exhibitions – depending on availability
We honor your commitment to educating future generations and welcome teachers to preview the museum free of charge before your class visit. Simply contact the Education and Public Engagement Department via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone: 619-239-2001 x 75 and let us know when you would like to visit.
Our education staff will confirm your availability and send you a guide to our current programs. All you have to do is show up on your scheduled day and present your employee ID to our admissions desk and you’re in! Friends and family are welcome to join you by purchasing general admission tickets.
Teachers are encouraged to join the Museum of Man with an Individual ($45 per year) or Family ($60 per year) Membership. Members receive a 10% discount in the Museum Store, discounts on Summer Camp, discounts on resource kits, free admission to lectures, the “Discovery” newsletter, and invitations to gallery openings. Please call the Membership Department at ext. 19 for further information.
