Last week we had an incredible, sold-out beer tasting celebrating the signature tastes of San Diego—tacos and craft beer—and there was plenty of both to go around!
Guests munched on a variety of tacos served fresh by San Diego Taco Company, including carnitas tacos and potato tacos, as well as San Diego’s most famous dish, fish tacos.
Tarantino’s Gourmet Sausages put their unique spin on Mexican cuisine by serving their popular chicken and jalapeño sausages, and their chorizo sausages. Guests could also satisfy their sweet tooth with Viva Pops‘ delicious gourmet popsicles in flavors like mango chili, coconut, and pineapple mint.
We had six craft breweries stationed throughout the Museum, including two San Diego favorites, Border X Brewing who poured tastings of their Blood Saison with hibiscus and agave, and Aztec Brewing Company who brought their Chipotle IPA and Macaroon Nut Brown with coconut and Tahitian vanilla bean, so guests could sample different beers as they wandered and mingled throughout the night.
Guests ate, drank, explored our exhibits, and talked about visiting or growing up in the region. Many party-goers also took a moment to pose for fun snapshots in front of the “beer wall” in BEERology. For these snapshot opportunities, Lovely Photo Booths curated a chest of festive props for our guests to pose with, from colorful cowboy hats and over-sized sunglasses, to larger-than-life wooden picture frames. Guests had the opportunity to take a copy home to keep a memory of the night.
