The Museum Grows as Membership Grows

Membership dollars help maintain our ever-growing collections and programs that benefit over 250,000 visitors and 120,000 local school children who utilize our educational services and exhibits.

The Museum unfolds stories of the past and present in exhibitions like Footsteps Through Time: 4 Million Years of Human Evolution, Guatemala! Celebrations of Weaving, Body Ornamentation: Artistic Representations of Self, Edward S. Curtis Refocused, and the forthcoming Journey to the Copper Age.

Our Institution has also had the fortune to be voted Best Museum by Union Tribune readers multiple years in a row, and we have received highest ranking from the Commission for Arts & Culture and grant awards from foundations and corporations like the National Science Foundation.

The preservation and exhibition of 72,000 ethnographic artifacts, 37,000 photographs, our exhibits and educational programs, and our offerings of Forensic, Rock Art, and Latin American symposia are all linked to members and individuals like you.
