Self-Exploration Guides

Self-exploration guides are designed to help students activate the Museum galleries. Guides can be used for any age that falls within the 6th-12th grade or 18 and older. Choose the one that works best for you!

Pre- and Post-Visit Lesson Plans

Our pre and post-visit lesson plans are designed to prepare students and museum guests for their self-exploration or guided experience. Materials provide gallery content information, fun, and thought-provoking activities, and expectations and guidelines for your groups visit.

Teacher Preview

We honor your commitment to educating future generations and welcome all teachers to preview the museum free of charge before your class visit. Simply contact the Education and Public Engagement Department via email at education@museumofman.org or by phone: 619-239-2001 (ext. 75), and let us know when you would like to visit.

Our education staff will confirm your availability; all you have to do is show up on your scheduled day and you’re in! Friends and family are welcome to join you by purchasing general admission tickets.

Museum Membership

Teachers are encouraged to join the Museum of Man with an Individual ($45 per year) or Family ($60 per year) Membership. Members receive a 10% discount in the Museum Store, free general admission and discounted Tower Tours, and invitations to gallery openings.
